ABOUT ELLEN
As a young child, Ellen was full of boundless energy. No matter how many sports her mother signed her up for, nothing worked to release this energy and calm her down. It wasn’t until her mother put The Wizard of Oz on the TV that Ellen sat still and paid attention, completely enchanted by the musical. From then on out, her mother would put on records, and Ellen would calm down, sit still, and just soak it in. After experiencing a campfire sing-a-long around age 10, Ellen begged for own guitar so she could begin to make music. By age 13, she was writing her own original songs.
She went on to play with critically acclaimed band The Little Wretches, which released 5 original CD’s: Born with a Gift, Why Were Your Poets Silent, Just Another Nail In my Coffin, Beyond the Stormy Blast, and The Little Wretches. The Little Wretches also released 2 singles, one of which hit number 9 on the charts in Paris.
Following the breakup of The Little Wretches, Ellen formed an all female quartette, Simple Truth, which went on to release one self-titled CD. Throughout Ellen’s career, she’s performed numerous live shows around the Northeast region of the United States.
Decades later, she is still a passionate singer-songwriter and guitarist, having released 6 original CD’s to date. She is currently working on a variety of independent music projects, as well as two collaborations. Her 7th original CD, Shipwrecked, is expected to be released in summer 2019.
